We have read with interest the recent publication from Nair et al about knowledge, attitude, and practice of blood culture contamination. Several strategies have already been adopted to reduce contamination rates, including skin asepsis with different preparations, educational interventions, use of sterile kits, and implementation of a team exclusively for phlebotomy work.
