To attain sustained success, infection control measures must be coupled with antimicrobial stewardship” Rizwan et al (2016).

Abstract:

Surveillance of healthcare associated infections (HAI) is an important component of hospital infection control programmes; surveillance allows monitoring of the frequency and type of HAIs, detects outbreaks, evaluates compliance with infection control guidelines and provides data for policy development.1 Studies have reported up to a 30% reduction in incidence of HAI through effective infection control programs.2 To attain sustained success, infection control measures must be coupled with antimicrobial stewardship.
