Firefighters often reach the scene faster than emergency medical service teams. In addition, firefighters can conduct an emergency action in danger zones inaccessible for medical personnel” Smereka et al (2016).

Abstract:

Anaphylaxis is an acute, life-threatening multisystem syndrome [1,2]. Quick emergency personnel response is essential for stabilizing the patient’s condition. Allergens that induce anaphylaxis include food, insect bites or stings, medications, and latex [3–6]. Firefighters often reach the scene faster than emergency medical service teams. In addition, firefighters can conduct an emergency action in danger zones inaccessible for medical personnel. Therefore, the ability to recognize life-threatening conditions and take appropriate measures is essential for increasing patients’ survival [2,6].
