Abstract:
Eliminating central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) remains a priority in healthcare. CLABSI are associated with increased length of stay, morbidity, and mortality (Centers for Disease Control, 2015). Furthermore, they have ties to reimbursement and are publicly reported. Consequently, our acute care hospital conducts a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for each CLABSI.
