Hematologic malignancy (hemeonc) and bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients are at higher risk of central line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) due to their dependency on central lines for treatment” Dombecki et al (2017).

Background:

Hematologic malignancy (hemeonc) and bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients are at higher risk of central line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) due to their dependency on central lines for treatment. Special considerations need to be taken into account when developing effective strategies to prevent CLABSI in this patient population.
