Sodium chloride injection particulate matter


Intravenous news: Medpage Today report “Drugmaker American Regent recalled a single lot of sodium chloride injection because of the presence of visible particulate matter. The voluntary recall affects lot number 0362 of the company’s Concentrated Sodium Chloride Injection, USP, 23.4%, 30 mL Single Dose Vial.

Potential adverse events related to intravenous interaction with the visible particles include disruption of blood flow in small blood vessels in the lungs, localized inflammation, and granuloma formation.”
