Central-line-associated bloodstream infections fell by a third


Intravenous news: MedpageToday report “Healthcare-related infections fell across many categories in 2010, but hospitalizations for Clostridium difficile infections were up, government officials said. Central-line-associated bloodstream infections fell by a third compared with the national baseline, CDC researchers reported at a policy summit hosted by the National Journal in Washington. That includes a 35% reduction among critical care patients and a 26% decline among other patients, they reported.
