Abstract:

Central line-associated blood stream infections (CLABSIs) affect thousands of patients each year and cost healthcare billions of dollars. Vascular catheter associated infections are the focus of regulatory, accrediting, and prospective payment agencies. The objective of the project was to achieve and sustain a rate of zero CLABSIs by improving central line maintenance practices.
