Rafuse, R.H. (2015) Impact of Daily Universal Chlorhexidine Cloth Bathing on Methicillin-Resistant Staphyloccus Aureus Transmission and Infection. American Journal of Infection Control. 43(6), p. S30.
The incidence of healthcare-associated Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (HA MRSA) transmission continues to rise and colonization often precedes infection with MRSA. Despite implementation of the recommended interventions to prevent transmission, rates remain high. Our objective is to evaluate daily universal patient bathing with chlorhexidine gloconate (CHG) impregnated cloths in the reduction of MRSA transmission and infection.
