I have been successfully using the POP technique to restore catheter patency for a number of years. One of the most frequently asked questions that I am asked is for a reference for the POP technique. Which happens to be one of the references that I always forget!     Andrew,

    Sue Jeffrey at Salisbury mentioned this to me yesterday, hence why I am looking at the site today. I am trying to get hold of the article, but in the meantime am keen to know more about this. Do you know of any others that are using this and have you experienced any negatives. Do you do this with midlines aswell as PICCs?

    Hi John

    I have sent you an email… but in summary… I have used this technique on polyurethane PICCs and Midlines… without any adverse effects… I have no experience using this technique with valved catheters.
