PICC blogs

I am sat here trying to include a section on patient information in a presentation. Then it came to me. I have put in hundreds upon hundreds of PICC’s but what do I really know about patient experience. As a fan of blogging I gave Google a try! I typed in PICC line blog and guess what came back? Yes thats it. Blogs about the Piccadilly line in London, UK However, mixed in with these results I found a few blogs detailing personal experience of PICC’s. Here you will find a blog illustrating failure to place a PICC. Here a brief description of a PICC infection and the feedback given to the patient over the phone. This blog is one of my favorites, it shows what patients think is happening despite what we tell them. Finally, Ian’s blog. I read Ian’s blog with a knowing smile… he describes how the nurse squealed with delight as the PICC went around the shoulder… how good is that feeling  Thank you to all bloggers who help nurses understand real life experiences such as PICC placement. Added 12th February 2008…  Just found the one I was looking for thefurrymonkey. Click here to view the PICC information section.
