Intraluminal IV protection: Curos Tips cleared by FDA to use on male luer IV connectors


Intravenous products: Medgadget report “Luer locks that are used to connect intravenous lines are known to be an entry point for microbes, so keeping them clean is a way to prevent nosocomial infections. Ivera Medical won 510(k) clearance for its Curos Tips that are used to cap male luer connectors when not used. The tips essentially soak the end of the Luer lock in alcohol, preventing any bugs from getting in. A year ago the company received FDA regulatory approval for its Port Protector that keeps IV access ports clear of infection.”
