#IVTEAM #Intravenous news: The CDC report “To keep pace with emerging public health challenges and to address the leading causes of illness, injury, disability, and death, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) initiated an effort to achieve measurable impact on selected Winnable Battles. These Winnable Battles were chosen based on the magnitude of the health problems and our ability to make significant progress to improve outcomes. A comprehensive set of indicators establishes baselines and targets for all Winnable Battle areas. These indicators measure the impact of our programs and interventions, which support the Department of Health and Human Services’ strategic plan and other federal priorities. The indicators help us measure the impact of programs and policies on our nation’s health. Derived from Healthy People 2020 and other established measures, the related targets are ambitious yet achievable, evidence-based, and specific to the priorities and opportunities within each of these health areas.
Although we are making significant progress in areas like teen pregnancy and healthcare-associated infections, we still have a long way to go in other areas. By identifying key actions and clear overarching goals, and by working closely with our public health partners, we can achieve our Winnable Battles targets.”
