The hospital’s CLABSI rate for 2014 is significantly higher compared to New York State (NYS) benchmark given the small number of central line days being used in the hospital” Pangan and Finerty (2017).

Background:

A 200 bed orthopedic hospital had two cases of CLABSI in 2014. The hospital’s CLABSI rate for 2014 is significantly higher compared to New York State (NYS) benchmark given the small number of central line days being used in the hospital. The two cases were patients admitted to the hospital with a central line already in place.
