National chemotherapy skills passport

Intravenous literature: Flynn, M. (2012) National Chemotherapy Skills Passport: a step closer. British Journal of Nursing. 21(4) (Supplement), p. S11.

In June 2011, Skills for Health (SfH) published the revised National Occupational Standards (NOS) for chemotherapy (SfH, 2011). The Standards form key building blocks, which allow for the development of a nationally uniform chemotherapy workforce, with transferable qualifications. They are the first component of a larger National Cancer Action Team (NCAT)-directed workstream/suite of tools to remodel the workforce required to optimally deliver holistic and safe quality cancer care. The development of this suite is envisaged to help ensure the inclusion of chemotherapy training within the Skills Passport. The other two elements include developing role templates and key principles for chemotherapy modules/training.
